Where they live: Under baseboards and furniture, around beds and couches, and anywhere that dust, hair, and debris accumulate.

Carpet Beetle Control

Fabric pests cause damage estimated as high as one billion dollars in the United States. The larval stage is what causes the damage. Adults feed on pollen and nectar. Carpet beetles are common pests of woolens, rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, museum specimens, and materials of a like nature.

Process:

  1. Identify the species involved.
  2. Find the source of the infestation- where pests are living
  3. Direct the control measures at the source where pests are living.
    1. Physical Removal using vacuum
    2. Targeted treatment using residual insecticides in cracks and crevices
    3. Targeted treatment using Dusts in cracks and crevices
    4. Target steam treatment
  4. Correct any contributing conditions
    1. Sanitation. Conditions that provide food and/ or water.
    2. Harborage. Items or areas that provide preferred shelter.
    3. Entry Points. Cracks, holes, or practices that permit the entry of pests
  5. Evaluate
    1. For heavy carpet beetle activity we will schedule a follow up inspection to ensure the infestation was eliminated
    2. For lighter carpet beetle activity we will schedule a phone call to follow up and ensure complete elimination
