How to Identify a Recluse Spider

Recluse spiders in Utah are only found in Washington, Utah. They are 1/4 to a 1/2 of an inch long. They are tan to dark brown in color with a darker fiddle-shaped marking behind the eyes. They also have six eyes arranged in three groups of tow.

Where Do They Come From

Recluse spiders spin irregularly shaped webs in undisturbed areas. They can be found outdoors in native vegetation, pack rat dens, etc. They are seldom found indoors.
